Great Gala of Gryphon Arts!

By: Jariel Tarrayo (Grade 9)

Many Hours Were Spent In Order To Achieve The Absolute Best of Their Artistic Capabilities

Oh! What a sight to behold! On June 6th, 2019, Chaminade showcased more than 40 pieces of art for the school to see at the annual visual arts show. These colorful, spectacular, and wondrous works have been painted by our very own students here at Chaminade College School, and have been admired by everyone who walks by.

These masterpieces have been meticulously painted, hour by hour, colour by colour, to produce the best possible result, and to strike thoughts into the viewer’s mind. During the showcase, the students here at Chaminade College School have been bombarded by these different colors and styles of painting, various techniques that convey different feelings of emotion that looking at the next piece of art is just as refreshing as looking at the first.

“It’s kinda cool to see what they think of it, and to see their reactions to the art, it took a long time to create my art, I remember I handed it in, maybe, two weeks late? Just because I was taking my time with it, I wasn’t really rushing with it, you shouldn’t really rush art,” said Rocky Perri, one of the artists who was skilled enough to have his art displayed at the art showcase.   “It doesn’t even have a name! When I finally handed it in, I got 100% on it, art is worth it." Art is an ever-expanding craft, and it has been showcased clearly since the unveiling of art to the school, so when the pieces have been taking down on June 11th.

"The art show is a great way to show the people of our school the talent Chaminade has," said Kevin Ortiz, a ninth grade art student who has had 3 pieces of art showcased this year. "There's not really an inspiration behind mine, I just enjoy the hobby and want to improve my skills which keeps me going."
